So the front pocket will stretch to allow 2" of thickness, but the total pocket is barely 8" tall., So in my opinion the front pocket would not be a good place for the phone with grip,.

I like the look of the bag and the vertical design. I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a Telesin Master Grip, size 8" x 3.5" x 2" . Does it fit in the front pocket? I want to easily open the flap, grab the phone by the grip, and pull it up and out of the bag to get a shot. The Large size looks close.
